STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: The Department of Civil Engineering organised a Site Visit of the project undertaken by Gayatri Infrastructure Pvt Ltd to construct the Ring Road at Kot Bhalwal Jammu. The visit was for the 7th semester Civil Engineering students of YCET, accompanied by Er Vinod Kumar and Er Mehmood Rashid. During this visit Er Neeraj Sharma Senior Section Incharge and Er Akhil Konkolla Lab Incharge of ring road project interacted with the students, faculty and suggested various aspects of Highway engineering. The prime aim of this visit was to give exposure to the young budding engineers to the practical work. During the visit students got indepth knowledge of flexible pavement, rigid pavement, construction of bridge and performed laboratory tests pertaining to highway materials. The Section Incharge said that there is great technological revolution and meeting those parameters is a daunting task. Without having thorough knowledge of specific field it is not possible to enter into a competitive world. Students thanked Prof. (Dr) A.K. Srivastava, Director (YCET) Jammu for organising such type of visits which give practical experience to young technocrats.
