Dear Editor, On June 15, 2020, I posted photographs of under construction palatial banglow of Dr Nirmal Singh former Deputy CM situated near ammunition depot, village Ban-Panj Garain, Nagrota on my Facebook account wherein, I also mentioned that the construction of the Banglow is being opposed by the Ministry of Defence/Indian Army on the grounds that the site in question has been prohibited from carrying out any construction due to location near vital defense installations. The army has filed a writ petition in May 2018 in J&K High Court wherein HC directed state of J&K to ensure the implementation of the notification dated 7-8-2015 which prohibits unlawful/impermissible activity in aforesaid area. Even in the contempt petition notices were issued to Div Com Jammu, DC Jammu and SSP Jammu on April 1, 2019 and the matter is sub-judice. The controversial raising of a palatial banglow in the prohibited area by the former Deputy CM was also highlighted by local and national newspapers and electronic channels but unable to digest my Facebook post of June 15, 2020, Dr Nirmal Singh chose to lodge a complaint against me on July 5, 2020 after 20 days of my post seeking registration of FIR against me alleging trespassing into his palatial banglow and breach of security. Through your esteemed daily, I would like to make it clear that all the photographs are already in public domain and published/aired on different newspapers and channels. Moreover, I leave it to the wisdom of the Nagrota Police to take a final call in the matter notwithstanding the fact that the complainant, a public figure, has tried to intimidate me and silence sane voices/whistle blowers in UT of Jammu and Kashmir where a tirade against such politicians, bureaucrats and executives is already picking up momentum. Advocate Sheikh Shakeel. Jammu.
