Kashmir mainstream is providing oxygen to Dragon to spill venom against India. It is because of the moral support of India bashers from the Indian soil that Beijing is playing a blow hot blow cold game with New Delhi in a bid to pressurise it on many fronts. That the people of Kashmir would like to be ruled by Chinese is an indication to the enemy across the Himalayas that it can continue its unabated misadventure in eastern Ladakh, a major part of erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir State. China has been suffering from a credibility crisis since the days of ‘Hindi Cheeni Bhai Bhai’ in 1962. Indians cannot forget the betrayal of the Himalayas in Ladakh. The overwhelming hate against China among Indian people dilutes the enthusiasm generated by Kashmir’s opportunistic leaders. Perhaps this factor is weighing high on Beijing, which is why its leadership is emphasising on due care to be taken to ensure that the overall situation in eastern Ladakh does not escalate. India has already made it clear to the unpredictable neighbour that the talks on disengagement should include Depsang as well as all face-off sites, insisting that it should be a simultaneous process and not a selective one. India has reportedly conveyed to the Chinese side, as the standoff began in early May due to aggressive actions by the PLA, they should take the lead in disengaging from the friction points. The Indian side has also made it clear to the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) that any misadventure or aggressive behaviour by it will be met firmly as India was determined to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity. Fingers remain crossed over the next move of the unpredictable dragon.
