STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: A number of Agriculture Technocrats under the banner of Unemployed Youth J&K Union led by its President Divyansh Verma on Friday urged the concerned authorities to revoke SRO-442 and SRO-433 for welfare of youth. While addressing media, Verma said that SRO-442 in Agriculture Production Department came into existence in 2017, wherein some deliberate draconian amendments were done, including the one regarding recruitment of Junior Agriculture Extension Officers (JAEOs). “As per SRO-442, these posts will be completely filled on promotional basis in contrary to earlier SRO-02, dated Jan 2, 2004 wherein these posts were filled on 60:40 basis, i.e., 60 per cent by direct recruitment and 40 per cent by promotional quota. JAEO is an entry-level post in APD and the agriculture technocrats are suffering from psychological trauma due to this amendment,” he added. He further said that more than 500 posts of JAEOs are vacant in JKAPD but due to SRO-442, these posts are not being referred for direct recruitment. “Same is the case with entry level posts AEO in gazetted cadre, where the ratio between direct and promotional quota was earlier 50:50 under SRO-179 but again the government came with a new provision under SRO-433, wherein quota between direct and promotional quota was set as 20:80 i.e., 20 per cent by direct recruitment and 80 per cent by promotion,” he asserted. The members urged the concerned authorities to revoke SRO-442 and SRO-433 for welfare of J&K youth at the earliest. Others present on the occasion included Dr Tariq, Manmohan, Pratik, Divya, Gagan, Upmaniyu, Rajeev, Kamal Bharti, Rohan and Amit.
