Udhampur District Cycling Championship held

JAMMU: For the first time District level Cycling Championship has been organized on Sunday in District Udhampur by J&K Cycling Association with the efforts of the Association amidst COVID-19 scare.
The competition has been held at Government Degree College, Udhampur. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Ashok Kumar, former Director Sports SMVD Shrine Board University who declared open the championship.
A large number of cyclists from the district took part in the championship in various age groups and exhibited their talent.
The championship was held under the supervision by Ravinder Singh President (JKCA), S.S Gill General Secretary (JKCA), Om Parkash Associate Secretary, Ravi Salgotra- Treasurer (JKCA), Tejinder Singh-Member Organizing Committee (JKCA), Joginder Singh Manhas-Interim President DCA, Rajan Gupta, Rajesh Sharma-Interim General Secretary, DCA Udhampur, Anil Verma (Member Organizing Committee), Ishang Bandral, Member Organizing Committee, K.B. Abhimanyu, Harpreet Singh, B.K. Manhas, Arjun Singh Salathia and Vimal Sharma.
The championship was witnessed by huge spectators around Udhampur District.
The President, while appreciating the budding cyclists, assured them to provide them platform to at the UT & National level so that they are able to achieve distinction in sports.
The results: Under-12 Group (Jastej Singh stood 1st, Prabhnoor Singh-2nd, Rohit Singh Bandral-3rd). Under-14 Group: (Rajvir Singh-1st, Rahul Kumar-2nd, Gurveer Partap Singh-3rd). Under-17 Group (Sunil Kumar-1st, Mridul Sharma- 2nd, Goutam Mehra-l 3rd).
