STATE TIMES NEWS Srinagar: Two persons, including an 18-year-old woman, were killed due to lightening in separate incidents in Bandipora and Ganderbal, officials said on Monday. Fatima Bano (18), a resident of Najan village in Sumbal area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora died when she was struck by lightening outside her house, an official said.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Yousuf Mir, a resident of Bakura area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal was struck by lightening while he was working in his field, an official said, adding that he died on the spot.
Meanwhile, two houseboats were gutted in a fire at the Nigeen lake here, officials said on Monday.
The fire broke out at one of the boats during the intervening night of Sunday and Monday, and immediately spread to another, officials said.
Both the houseboats were gutted in the incident. There was no loss of life or injury and no tourist was staying inside the houseboats, the officials added
