STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Tree plantation drive was held at JK Public School Kunjwani in an initiative by 92.7 Big FM in collaboration with State Forest Research Institute (SFRI) and Jammu and Kashmir Police. It was organised to create awareness among children and spread the message of saving the Earth with a slogan ‘Bhagwan Aapka Hara Kare’. MJ Juhi from 92.7 Big FM interacted with the students with a great zeal and encouraged them to grow plants for a better healthy future. Rakesh Abrol, Divisional Forest Officer, SFRI enlightened the students about the importance of plants in the production of oxygen which is one of the sole requirements of human survival. He added that in an average a person requires eight trees to meet his yearly requirement of oxygen intake. The students were provided with the saplings which they planted in the school premises and they also took some saplings to their homes to plant them in their yards or in the neighbourhoods.
