STATE TIMES NEWS RAMBAN/UDHAMPUR: Police on Tuesday nabbed three narco smugglers to two separate actions and seized 86 kg poppy straw. As per the details, a party of Police Station Ramsoo led by Dr Sumit Sharma, DySP (Prob) SHO Police Station Ramsoo during Naka checking, intercepted one truck (JK02AR 3044) for checking and recovered 26 kg of poppy straw from it. The accused driver namely Karpal Singh, son of Chattar Singh, resident of Gunda, Rajouri was arrested and a case vide FIR No. 43/2020 under section 8/15 NDPS Act was registered against him at Police Station Ramsoo. The arrest was made by Dr Sumit Sharma, DySP (Prob) SHO Ramsoo under the supervision of Ashish Gupta, SDPO Banihal, Sanjay Parihar, Addl SP Ramban and Haseeb Ur Rehman, SSP Ramban. Meanwhile, Udhampur police recovered 60 kg of poppy straw at Jakhani Naka, Udhampur and arrested 2 accused. Giving details Rajiv Pandey, SSP Udhampur said a party of Police Station Udhampur led by Insp. Vijay Singh Choudhary SHO under the supervision of Rajinder Singh Katoch AdSP Udhampur and Dr. Rohit Chadgal DySP Hqrs. Udhampur laid a naka at Jakhani, NH Udhampur and intercepted a truck (PB 05Q 7191) for checking. During checking of said vehicle, 60 kg of poppy straw was recovered from the vehicle. The accused driver namely Yoga Singh, son of Mohinder Singh, resident of Subash Colony, Amritsar along with Lucky Singh, son of Avtar Singh, resident of Meota Road, Amritsar were arrested and a case vide FIR No. 211/2020 under section 8/15 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Udhampur.
