STATE TIMES NEWS SRINAGAR: Continuing its drive against drug dealings, Police has arrested two drug peddlers in Budgam and recovered contraband substance from their possession. As per details, officers at a check point established at Bugroo Parnewa intercepted two suspicious persons, identified as Abdul Rasheed Bhat, resident of Parnewa and Mudasir Ahmad Mir, resident of Bugroo, Khansaheb. During checking, 250 grams of Charas was recovered from their possession. Both the accused were arrested and shifted to Police Station Khansaheb where they remained under custody. According, a case vide FIR No. 145/2020 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Khansaheb and investigation has been initiated. Meanwhile, acting swiftly on a reliable information, a police party from Police Station Budgam, raided Budibagh Choon area of Budgam and apprehended a person, identified as Nazir Ahmad Budoo, resident of Budibagh Choon, Budgam. During search, 43 Kg of poppy straw was recovered from his possession. He was arrested on the spot and shifted to Police Station Budgam where he remained under custody. According, a case vide FIR No. 299/2020 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Budgam. Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused person is a notorious drug peddler, involved in supplying drugs to youth in the area. Further investigations are going on in matter.
