STATE TIMES NEWSJAMMU: Police on Friday nabbed three bootleggers and recovered 111 bottles of illicit liquor from their possession.As per details, a party from Police Station Miran Sahib headed by ASI Manjeet Singh, Border Police Post Kullian, during patrolling near Kali Puli, intercepted a motorcycle (JK02AX-5452), which was on its way from Kirpind towards Kali Puli. During questioning, the persons on bike disclosed their names as Lucky Kumar, son of Chaman Lal, resident of Melowal and Suchet Singh, son of Darbara Singh, resident of Tanda R S Pura. During search of bag, which they were carrying, 51 bottles (180 ml each) of liquor was recovered by Police.The duo was arrested and a case vide FIR No. 138/2020 under Section 48 (F) of Excise Act was registered against them at Police Station Miran Sahib.Meanwhile, a patrolling party led by ASI Mohinder Singh Incharge Border Police Post Baspur established a Naka at Bhojpur for checking of vehicles and pedestrians.During Naka checking, a person carrying a bag on his motor cycle (JK02W-1878), on its way from R S Pura towards Abdullian, was stopped by police who was identified as Arjun Singh, son of Babu Ram, resident of Banota R S Pura. During search, 60 bottles (180 ml each) of liquor were recovered from his bag. The accused was arrested and a case vide FIR No. 162/2020 under Section 48 (A) of Excise Act was registered against him at Police Station R S Pura.
