STATE TIMES NEWSKathua: Police on Thursday nabbed a thief and recovered stolen cash from his possession.As per details, on October 21, 2020 a complaint was lodged at Police Station Lakhanpur by one Mehar Singh, son of Lakha Singh, resident of Tridwan Tehsil and District Kathua, stating that someone has stolen cash Rs. 1,09,750 from his house.Acting on the complaint, a case vide FIR No. 119/2020 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Lakhanpur and investigation started.During the course of investigation, a team led by Insp. Sanjeev Singh Chib SHO Lakhanpur, with strenuous efforts, generated credible information regarding burglar. The team apprehended a person namely Ram Singh, son of Thoru Ram, resident of Dilwan Tehsil & District Kathua. During sustained questioning, the accused confessed his involvement in the crime and accepted that he has stolen cash from the house of Mehar Singh. On his disclosure, Police recovered Rs 1,09,750 cash from Village Dilwan. The accused was arrested and shifted to Police Station where he remained under custody. Further investigation of the case is under progress.
