Terrorism will not end till last terrorist eliminated

Nobody is a born terrorist. Indoctrination and urge to achieve political objectives through violence give birth to terror. This is a scourge that has emerged as a biggest challenge to the civilized world. This may be because of the laxity being shown by the society, the parents and the system that leads to growth of terrorists. Confining youngsters to a particular ideology and thought process has potential to wayward them. Therefore, a primary responsibility lies with the families and the educational institutions to shape up children as progressive, secular and forward looking global citizens.
Terrorism in Kashmir is not entirely unleashed by Pakistan; it is not indigenous either. It is a mix of Pakistan and global Wahabi Jihad, unleashed with a sinister agenda to indoctrinate, lure and push local youths to terrorism. The scourge is thriving with the active support of anti-India forces across the globe, urban Maoists and left controlled lobby within the country and soft separatist mainstream politicians of the Valley. It is a cocktail of all-in-one, who are inimical to great Indian civilization. Therefore, holding one particular factor responsible for terrorism will be lack of understanding of the global Jihad.
How to tackle terror and how to free Kashmir from the shackles of Jihad? This is a question that has thus far failed to get answered by the ‘experiment syndrome’ of the successive governments in New Delhi, including the BJP, which has nonetheless demonstrated intent to chop the head of the monster.
Tackling terrorism is not all about killing a terrorist in encounter or foiling infiltration on borders; it has to be a whole hog war against the ideology that breeds it. The challenge is big but not unachievable, provided there is a will to end the scourge. This will require neutralization of secessionists who are a source of inspiration for terrorists. Terrorists are being glamourised and immortalised by their sponsors in Pakistan and supporters in separatist amalgam as Mujahids. Once the terror fans are tackled, combating terrorism will be rather easier.
The reason why Pakistan is solely being perceived as the mother of terrorism in the Valley owes its genesis to Islamabad’s obsession with Kashmir. Its notorious ISI has chipped in only when a firm ground had been laid by indoctrinating youth to take up arms for ‘liberating Kashmir’ from ‘Indian occupation’. It has not been an overnight development but a well planned strategy drawn by domestic actors, with overt and covert support from across the border. The ground leveling gets started with imparting of a particularly ideology at the basic level institutions, which eventually spread to particular brands of modern schools that kept producing young people with prejudiced mindset each year. The ‘produce’ gets assimilated into the rank and file of various student organizations, political outfits, teaching communities, social and religious organizations and systematically in the government. Though silent yet these elements have turned out as a major source of motivation for India bashers. Over the years, they have subtly pushed the Valley to the wall. They are the people who sowed seeds of sedition and laid ground for the rogue neighbour to use it for furthering its one-point agenda of bleeding India.
The reaction in Kashmir over elimination of terrorists is akin to supporting terror as means to achieving political objectives. That is exactly what international terrorist Hafiz Saeed is doing while moving free in Pakistan despite the US announcing a huge bounty on his head. Kashmir has several Hafiz Saeeds. They are active in separatist ranks and omni-present in the so-called mainstream junta. The only difference is varying approach from situation to situation.
How long will India utilize diplomatic channels and negotiation tables to make Pakistan rein in the terror regime, forgetting that it is the nation that has actually created these beasts against humanity? Pakistan has been equating terrorism as Jihad-a holy war and, therefore, expecting miracle from this rogue nation will be like living in fools’ world. Islamabad knows the language which India has never tried to learn. Remember, how the US Navy SEAL Team Six killed Osama bin Laden in his Abbottabad rat hole in 2011.
Can India do what the US has been doing to track down its enemies wherever they are in the world? Can we ever think of launching an operation to pull out the two designated global terrorists Hafiz Saeed and Syed Salahuddin? India did a surgical strike in 2016 that has set a tone for a decisive action against the terror monster. It has to be achieved by simultaneously acting on several fronts. There has to be synergy and steadfastness to break the backbone of terror supporters in the Valley, plug infiltration routes, and keep watch on the actions of global misadventures and above all reining in a particular thought process. It should be remembered that terrorism will end only with the elimination of the last terrorist in Kashmir.
