The DGP’s assertion that enhanced technical surveillance near country’s border is imperative in tackling terrorism is a revelation of the fact that our police force and other security agencies are well aware of the situation and will not allow adversaries to carry out their nefarious designs to dent the interests of nation in any way. As shared by the top cop in J&K UT, the strategy of stopping terror mongers from entering India from across the Pakistan border and de-radicalisation of the youth can really make the difference as far as combating terrorism is concerned. Plugging the gaps arising out of non-fulfillment of aspirations of job seeker youths is another key factor which when roped in with accelerated pace of development can bring about positive changes in the entire spectrum related to socio-economic growth in the region thus creating a conducive atmosphere for restoring peace. What is expected from the security forces especially the police is maintaining fail-safe vigil along borders as the enemy, the rogue nation Pakistan is trying new tools and techniques to push in terrorists and arms and ammunition inside India with ceasefire violations to give cover to intruders to get into this side and use of drones to drop ammunition with extreme precision at the targeted location without being caught by our security agencies. However, eagle eye view of Indian security personnel have time and again foiled the attempts of Pakistani abettors of terrorism in India and several unmanned aerial vehicles have been detected and destroyed while bringing arms into the country. The situation especially after August 5, 2019, when the Article 370 was nullified has turned critical and there is no scope for security forces to show lethargy of any kind as enemy nations Pakistan and China are finding fault lines to hinder the plans of India for ushering in new era of peace and development in J&K. It is good sign that JKP and other security agencies are well aware of vicious designs of these nations and never give a chance to them to materialise their ill wills against India. As briefed by the DGP, there are still many terrorists waiting at the Pakistani border to get a chance to enter India and wreak havoc here. This fact makes it imperative for the security men at the borders and even at hinterland to remain alert at all times to hit the terror mongers hard before they can even think of doing a misdeed.
