State Times newsJAMMU: The Shiv Mandir Committee (SMC), Ashok Nagar Jammu has condemned brutal attack on Shiv Bhakts and senior citizens of area by some imposters, in guise of Sadhus, who are forcibly occupying Mandir premises for last fifteen days. In a press statement issued here, members of Committee led by General Secretary said that in a press conference on September 15, the committee had already expressed apprehensions that land mafia and imposters are trying to grab Mandir property to commercialise it. “There are some anti-social elements, who have joined hands with land grabbers to encroach Mandir property, and our apprehensions are proving true. The matter has already been brought into the notice of concerned functionaries of the Govt with a request to oust these persons from Mandir as they can be a source of spread of coronavirus besides proving as a threat to peaceful atmosphere of the area,” they added. The member further alleged that these imposters attacked worshipers with Trishuls and swords, when some elderly persons of locality went to offer prayers in temple and requested them to allow Pooja in Mandir but instead they attacked them with deadly weapons but timely intervention of locals prevented any major mishap. “Police personnel were also present on the occasion but their number was not enough to stop these anti-socials, who are assisting these imposters, who are trying to grab Mandir property and bringing a bad name to Hindu Religion. They also use banned drugs in evening,” they said, adding that all Hindu religious organisations need to take note of their activities, antecedents besides taking corrective steps to save temple land. The committee appealed to the administration to deploy adequate police personnel for ousting these imposters from temple complex besides taking action against attackers.
