STATE TIMES NEWSSRINAGAR: Police have arrested two persons in connection with the Shopian fake encounter case on Tuesday and have been sent to 8 days of judicial remand by the district court.“We have arrested two persons in connection with the case”, said a senior police officer.As per reports, the two arrested persons connected to the case are local collaborators who have been detained by the police on charges of “criminal conspiracy” under relevant sections in an FIR. Both the accused are going through further questioning to reveal the chain of events.Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh on Monday had said that the investigation into an alleged fake encounter in Shopian, in which three men from Rajouri district were killed, is in the final stages.“The SSP, Shopian is himself monitoring the investigation process and further details about the case will be shared very soon. Our investigations are in the final stage,” the DGP told reporters at Awantipora in Pulwama district.
