Sports Reporter KATHUA: Shivalik Club Hiranagar bagged the title trophy of the two-day District Kathua Korfball Championship which was organised by the Kathua Korfball Association at Shivalik Heights Public School Gurah Mundian, here. In the final, Shivalik Club defeated hosts Shivalik Heights School 5-3 to claim the title trophy. Kartik Sharma and Narayan Sharma played an outstanding game and contributed two goals each from the winning team. Paras Munda (two) and Raghav Khajuria (one) were the scorers from runners-up, Shivalik Heights. Third place went to Unique Public Higher Secondary School Chadwal, which beat Vidya Bharti High School Hiranagar 3-1 in the hardliner. Navneet Singh, Arun Kumar and Shamli Sharma were the scorers from winning side while Vasu Sharma reduced the margin from Vidya Bharti School. The event was officiated by the technical panel including Sukhwant Singh and Sanjay Kumar. In the final, DySP Border, Ravinder Singh and Raj Kumar Sharma were Special Guests, who presented winners and runners-up trophies. Ganesh Sharma (ZPEO Sallan) and Kant Kumar (social worker) were Guests of Honour. The competition was held under the supervision of General Secretary of the District Association, Madan Lal. Among others present were Parshotam Kumar (Principal of Unique Public HSS School Chadwal), Shanti Swaroop, Arun Sharma, Bodh Raj Sharma, Varun Sharma, Pooja Pathania, Saroj Sharma and Veena Sharma. Chairman of the host school, Yog Raj Sharma presented the vote of thanks.
