SAMBA: A protest was held by Shiv Sena (Bal Thakery) unit Samba under the leadership of State President Dimpy Kohli, Distt President Samba Ramesh Gupta and State Secretary Raj Singh against the pesticide unit of SIDCO phase 1 Samba namely Crop Chemicals India Limited Samba.
Speaking on the occasion, Shiv Saniks said that for many days the crop chemical factory openly flows the effluents directly into river Basanter. They said that the waste which the crop chemical factory discharges into the river is mixed with many harmful chemicals which is dangerous for local people and water bodies.
Gupta said that few months later this factory dumped the waste chemical along National Highway Ghagwal without any permission as Pollution Control Board Samba is helping this factory. He warned concerned authorities to take immediate action against factory otherwise they will block national highway. Vijay Manyal, Om Parkash , Jank Raj, Vishamber Das, Angrej Chand, Sikander Singh and Thyaan Chand were also present during the protest.
