State Times NewsJAMMU: Condemning attempt made by some land-grabbers and others in disguise of Sadhus to vitiate peaceful atmosphere of Satwari area, Shiv Mandir Committee Ashok Nagar Jammu on Wednesday warned such elements, their supporters and administration to desist from such activities.While addressing a press conference, the members of Shiv Mandir Committee including Retired Sessions Judge Pavitter Singh Bhardwaj, General Secretary of Society Vijay Sharma, local Corporator Pawan Singh and counsel of Shiv Mandir Society Adv Rameshwar Singh Jamwal said that some elements tried to grab Shiv Mandir property by burying dead body of one such person in temple premises. “A MES employee from UP, namely Govind Ram, who used to repair electric connections in Mandir, after retirement from service, donned the saffron robes and styled himself as Mahant Govind Giri besides making false claims on temple’s property few years ago, which was resisted by the management committee and locals. The aforesaid person had forcefully occupied one room in temple premises and managed a stay order. On Saturday, he expired and at behest of some property dealers and some of his so called disciples and co-conspirators, an attempt was made to bury him in Temple’s premises, which was resisted by Mandir committee but the Administration caved in under threat of these so called religious preachers and his body was forcibly buried in Temple’s premises by threatening official machinery,” they said.The members further added that now the same persons are circulating false videos and news items in social media for defaming actual worshippers and custodians of the Mandir and want to grab temple’s property. Management committee warned also such property dealers, the imposters and their supporters and administration to desist from such activities which can vitiate the peaceful atmosphere of the area as any attempt to defile the sanctity of temple would be thwarted by the management committee and all worshippers of Bhagwan Shiva and Baba Satya Giri Ji, who used to stay in this temple several decades back. The members further warned if the administration would not oust the land grabbers and fake sadhus from temple’s premises, the situation can turn explosive.Others who spoke on the occasion included Kishore Singh, Jagdish, Nishu Gupta, Yudhvir Singh, Bachan Lal, Dharam Pal, Mohan Singh, Rocky Gupta, Naval Kishore and Vinay Kashyap.
