STATE TIMES NEWSRAMBAN: Ashok Kumar, Former Legislature from Ramban has strongly protested against the DDC Ramban and urged upon the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir to direct DCC Ramban to immediately shift Covid-19 temporary hospital from Government Model Higher Secondary School Ramban to another appropriate place so that teachers could initiate teaching learning process at High Secondary School Ramban.Moreover, the students especially, belonging to rural areas are already deprived of online education and tuitions due to lack of basic facilities from last six months under prolonged lock down . Thus, it becomes imperative for students to have teaching learning process in order to prepare for upcoming board examination.Ashok has said that schools across the country were partially reopened from 21 September 2020, as the part of relaxation allowed under fourth phase lock down exit plan. Students from class 9th to 12th class have been allowed to visit their school in areas outside of containment zone on volunteering basis with the permission of their parents. However, the Government Higher Secondary School, Ramban located at Central place of District headquarter Ramban in densely locality comprises of 1500 students has been converted into a temporary covid-19 hospital. It is totally a violation of Right to education as students have helpless and are unable to clear their concepts of various subjects from teachers in school premises. In addition, Ashok has stressed that the school is the centre for various board examination of 10th, 11th and 12thdespite that it have been completely closed and being used for covid-19 hospital.Ashok has further said that the future of the young and bright students are under great threat in these unprecedented time. The education sector should be dealt with critical assessment and better planning. Government has been repeatedly neglecting the ground reality of educational system in these critical times, risking both the health and future of the students. Moreover, the rural areas students does not have the facilities of WiFi and tuition and the government is adding more miseries to already deprived and helpless students. It is great injustice to the student fraternity who have not even attempted a single chapter in winter zones. Ashok has stressed upon the administration of Ramban to immediately vacate the covid-19 hospital from Model Higher Secondary School Ramban so that the teaching learning process could be resumed.
