JAMMU: Semifinals lineup has been drawn in twin events of badminton and kho-kho in the ongoing annual Inter-college Competitions, organised by Directorate of Sports, University of Jammu (JU) on the campus grounds, here on Wednesday.
Earlier, in men’s kho-kho quarterfinals decided on Wednesday, Government PG College Rajouri defeated Government Degree College (GDC) Reasi 10-02 after the latter conceded defeat at the middle of the game.
Now, PG College Rajouri shall take on GDC Samba in the semifinals tomorrow. In the quarterfinals, Samba outplayed Government SPMR College of Commerce 10-05.
Results: WOMEN: Quarterfinals: PG Department beat GCW Gandhi Nagar 08-05; GCW Udhampur defeated GDC Kathua 07-02; GCW Kathua trounced GDC Hiranagar 12-01; GCW Parade downed GDC Samba 07-01. Today’s matches were officiated by the technical panel including Anil Sharma, Ajay Gupta, Anil Kumar, Jagdev Singh Israr, Shivali, Gagan and Kanchan.
BADMINTON: Semifinals position has also been cleared in men’s badminton competition with GCET, GDC Kathua, PG Departments and GDC Udhampur winning their respective quarterfinals today. The Results: Quarterfinals: GCET beat GDC Akhnoor 3-1; GDC, Kathua defeated GGM Science College 3-0; PG Departments downed GDC Reasi 3-0; GDC Udhampur blanked GDC Ramnagar 3-1. The matches officiated by the technical panel including Ravish Vaid, Vikram Jamwal, Gourav Sharma, Rakesh Verma, Sanjeev Sharma, Narinder Sharma, Gourav Jamwal and Ankit Sharma.
