STATE TIMES NEWS RAMBAN: To implement the initiative taken by the Director Information and Public Relations, Dr. Sehrish Asgar for generating awareness regarding “J&K Protection of Children from Sexual Violence Act 2018” among the students, District Information Centre, Ramban organised a Seminar at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Ramban on Thursday. Chief Education Officer (CEO), Ramban, Abdul Hamid Fani presided over the function while Principal of host school, Narinder Singh Jamwal, officer and officials of ICPS, media persons and various other were the resource persons on the occasion. As many as 10 students from host school and Girls High School, Ramban participated in the seminar on the topic “Protection of Children from Sexual Violence’. Shafia Bano student of GHS was adjudged over all best whereas Uzma Akther of GHS and Neha Butiyal were clinched second and third position respectively in the seminar. CEO threw light on the provisions of the Act and informed the importance of protection of children from sexual offenses. He told the students to remain vigilant from such crimes. He thanked the information department for organising a informative cum awareness programme and requested to the department to organise such programme in other schools also. Law officer, child protection services, Ramban, Advocate Vikram Singh Raju and speakers from ICPS were gave a detailed description on the Act educating the gathering about its key aspects.
