STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: A symposium on topic ‘Relevance of literature in modern day world’ was organised by Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi at KL Saigal Hall here on Tuesday. Presided over by senior Kashmiri poet and writer Brij Hali, the programme was attended by a galaxy of scholars, writers and poets. While welcoming the participants and guests, Convener Kashmiri Advisory Board of Sahitya Akademi, Dr. Aziz Hajini said that this subject is being discussed globally keeping in view the modern day advancement in science and technology. Those who spoke on the occasion include Ashok Kumar Gowhar, Bharti Koul, Zameer Ansari, Rohit Bhat, Maqbool Sajid, and Zahir Banihali. The proceedings of the event were conducted by Dr. Iftikhar Ahmad. Among others who were present in the programme include Wali Mohammad Aseer, Shahnaz Rashid, Hasrat Gadda, Abdaal Mehjoor, Brij Nath Betab, Ayash Arif and Mohammad Amin Bhat.
