STATE TIMES NEWSSRINAGAR: Former India Captain and chairman of the technical committee of the Handball Federation of India (HFI), Ranjeet Singh Chib has been elected as new president of the J&K Handball Association (JKHA) by the members in Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at SKICC, here on Saturday.Ranjit has replaced long servicing president, S M Bali, who has crossed the age limit of 70 years. Rajesh Chandan has been made general secretary replacing Ashwani Raina, who has been elected as senior vice president.Mohd Ashraf Parry has been unanimously made treasurer of the Association in the members.Narendra Mahajan has been made chairman of the Association while Ravi Singh and Praval Kumar elected as vice presidents. Mohd.Yousaf, Sanjeev Singh Jamwal, Kaiser Asror Wani and Rajesh Kapoor have been made joint secretaries of the Association.Sorab Sharma, Pawan Sharma, Abdul Rouf and Jinder Pal Singh made executive members.The elections took place under the banner of adhoc committee of the J&K Handball Association formed by the HFI, recently.Mohd Iqbal was observer from the J&K Olympic Association while Tej Raj Singh was appointed as observer by the HFI for the election meeting.Similarly, Mushtaq Ahmed Zarjar was observer from J&K Sports Council while KV Singh was returning officer.
