STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Former MLC Vikram Randhawa on Tuesday dedicated a newly constructed lane and drain to residents of Ward No 70, Sector-D, Sainik Colony under Gandhi Nagar Assembly segment. The lane and drain was inaugurated in presence of Corporator Narinder Singh Jamwal. While speaking on the occasion, Randhawa urged people to maintain all public properties properly for their longevity, as expenditure for their maintenance as well as construction is borne out of tax-payers’ money. He said that the demand for lane and drain was brought to his notice when he was a sitting MLC. An amount of Rs 10 lakh was released out of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for construction of the same, he added. He said that the BJP is committed to all round development of the people and Centre Government has many mega projects in its kitty, which will be rolled out soon for development of the newly created Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. He assured the people that the move of the government will benefit scores of people, particularly unemployed youth who will get ample employment opportunities in the UT. Others present on the occasion included Janak Ram, G S Slathia, Paramjit Singh, Suresh Abrol, Sachin Abrol, Ramesh Randhawa, Rakesh Choudhary, Rajinder Choudhary, Satpal Choudhary and Vijay Choudhary.
