STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: At a time when India is under 21-day lockdown, BJP Government’s Information and Broadcasting Minister, Prakash Javadekar has taken a right decision to air famous serial Ramayana on Doordarshan again. Ramayana will be aired twice a day, starting from Saturday. In a statement issued here on Friday, BJP leader Raman Suri said that it is high time people stay Indoors, for which the Union Government, State Governments and UT Administrations are putting in their best efforts by engaging them through all means. He said that people need to cooperate and help government in the fight against deadly coronavirus merely by staying indoors. The BJP leader said as Ramayana episodes, written, produced and directed by Ramanand Sagar, were very much famous amongst people, their telecast is a welcome step, especially during these days as it will keep people engaged. Moreover, at this time, when everybody is at home including children and youth, they will be able to watch the episodes and get in-depth spiritual and religious knowledge, which will ultimately give their life a good direction, he said. “We need to help government in dealing with this virus and stopping this transmission as soon as possible, and social distancing is the only way out,” Suri said.
