Jain Sabha contributes towards PM CARES Fund

JAMMU: On birthday of Lord Mahavir, Jain Samaj Jammu donated a sum of Rs 3,75,111 while Jain Mahila Mandal donated Rs 1,11,000 as contribution towards Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM CARES Fund) towards efforts being undertaken to contain the spread of COVID-19.
Amid nationwide lockdown in wake of coronavirus outbreak and on the appeal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for keeping social distancing, Jain Samaj Jammu did not organize any function and handed over a cheque of Rs 3,75,111 and Rs 1,11,000, from Jain Samaj Jammu and Jain Mahila Mandal respectively, in favour of PM CARES Fund to Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor JMC and Narayan Singh Jamwal, BJP leader and President Rajput Sabha.
Pankaj Jain President, Rajeev Jain Vice President, Sandeep (Sunny) Jain General Secretary, Rajneesh Jain and Virender (Bhabbi) Jain Executive Members of Jain Samaj Jammu were also present on the occasion.
They further said that on Mahavir Jayanti, special Poojas and Mantras have been recited in every household of Jain community and it was prayed to Lord Mahavir to provide more and more strength to Prime Minster Narendra Modi and every Indian to combat COVID-19.
Mayor thanked Jain Samaj for contributing to the noble cause and said that eminent citizens should come forward and donate as much as they can for strengthening Disaster Management Capacity in the country. He also appealed public to follow the guidelines issued by administration besides taking all precautionary measures to combat COVID-19.
