State Times NewsJAMMU: The District Congress Committee convened a meeting on Monday at party headquarters, Shaheedi Chownk, Jammu wherein various issues pertaining to wellbeing of Jammu were discussed. The meeting, comprising of district office bearers, block presidents and ward presidents, was chaired by the former Minister J&K, Yogesh Sawhney (General Secretary JKPCC Incharge District President Jammu Urban). During the meeting, detailed discussions on various issues were held following which the members passed various resolutions to bring their policy decisions into effect. The assembled leaders firstly passed a resolution of thanks to party high-command for appointment of Rajni Patil as AICC Incharge Jammu & Kashmir. The DCC welcomed his appointment and expressed gratitude towards Sonia Gandhi for the same.Further, in view of threat letters to senior Congress leaders Raman Bhalla, Jugal Kishore Sharma and Madan Lal Sharma, the DCC unanimously adopted a resolution demanding adequate security cover to Congress leaders and other secular party leaders, who had been threatened by Hizbul Mujahideen. They resolved to ensure full proof security for leaders in view of threats, asking the administration to provide foolproof security cover to the leaders for assuring their safety.Eminent Congress leaders who attended the meeting included Krishan lal gupta , Dr Ramakant Khajuria , Ch. Sukhdev Singh, M L Malagar , Jyoti Vaid, Pawandev Singh, Ch Dwarka, Ch Sobit Ali, Virinder Singh Manhas, Uttam Singh chib, Satish Sharma , Kulbhushan Sharma, Rajesh Sharma, Vinay Dutta , Sushant Gupta, Cameres David, Chander Shekhar Sharma, Atul Sharma , Gurmeet Singh, Michel Wazir, Aman Bawa, Satpal Sapolia , Anand Gandotra , Pawan Sharma, Manmohan Sharma, Mandeep Singh , Sanjay Mahi, Somdutt Sharma, Raju Katyal, Diwan Chand, Ajay Kumar, Gurdeep Singh, Jatinder Singh, Dimpa , Rakesh chopra, Rakesh Sharma, Balwinder Singh, Rinku, sahildeep Singh, Harbans singh, Jasvir Singh ,Vijay Singh, Rajinder Singh Randhawa and Sandeep Dogra.The leaders also discussed Panjbakhtar temple land issue and demanded a full-fledge enquiry by the administration in the matter, which involves many high-level players and individuals. “An agitation will be launched against the perpetrators if a high level probe into the matter is not initiated,” they said. Congress swore to continue the stir on land row of Panjbakhtar temple until their demands are accepted, since no enquiry has been conducted till date.Another agenda of the meeting was issue of party dissention. The party made a resolve to ban re-entry of party dissenters into party fold to discourage dissention and instability in the party. Speaking on the issue of lack of facilities in GMC, the leaders highlighted need for improved treatment facilities and corrective measures in other problematic areas including lack of oxygen in GMC and other associated hospitals.Later, the leaders paid tributes to Janak Raj Gupta, a Congress veteran leader on his death anniversary and observed 2-minute silence in his memory.
