STATE TIMES NEWSREASI: A meeting of Private Schools of District Reasi was organized by Ashwani Khajuria District President in which the participants discussed various regulatory acts in accordance to which Assistant Labour Commissioner Reasi has issued three days notice for their compliance. General Secretary of the J & K Private Schools Association Ajay Gupta, who was a special invitee, briefed the members that the circulation of inspection notices after August 5,2019 by the Labour Department in District Reasi is unethical as all Acts and SROs will become redundant after October 31,2019. The private schools have been directed to comply with J & K Shops and Establishment Act, payment of Wages Act, Minimum Wages Act, Maternity Benefit and Payment of Gratuity etc, he said. Members from far flung areas said that it has become worrisome for them to run a private school in the absence of adequate finances due to their low budget. “Prior to the year 2002, the self financed schools were pulling on comfortably and there was no interference from the government quarters. Moreover, government never informed and educated private entrepreneurs about these Acts. Due to this hostile attitude most of the private schools will come to halt as on the one hand Fee Fixation Committee has restricted the enhancement of fee and thereupon government has imposed various regulatory Acts”, they rued. The participants appealed to the Governor to intervene and install a mechanism which is genuine, simple and acceptable to all the stakeholders of Private Educational sector to save this venture from harassment and extinction. The prominent who attended the meeting include B.L. Chiragi (Chairman PSA Reasi), Thomas Ooman (Vice President PSA Udhampur), Ajay Singh, Jawahar Pandita, Siddheshwar Sadhotra, Piyush Sadotra, Jatinder Heera, Shoket Hussain, Ved Sharma, Joginder Singh, Laddi Kumar, Rajni Sharma, Ganesh Sharma, Ravi Sharma, Javid Ahmed, Shashi Kumar, Amit Sharma, Rajeev Manhas, Krishan Kumar, Kamini Sadotra, Bansi Lal and Sudarshan Singh.
