State Times NewsJAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) strongly condemned the killing of BDC Chairman Khag and described the incident as highly unfortunate and shameful act.The JKPCC in a statement has expressed anguish over the killing of Bhupinder Singh BDC Chairman Khag (Budgam) and strongly condemned this inhuman and cowardly act.The Party sought stern action against the killers of Bhupinder Singh and said killing of innocent people was highly condemnable and unacceptable, deserves strong condemnation by every section of the society, PCC said.JKPCC expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and conveyed deepest condolences to them.The Party also demanded security cover to Panchs, Sarpanchs and other elected representatives to ensure their safety.J&K Gurdwara Parbandhak Board and District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Jammu on Thursday condemned the Killing of BDC Chairman Bhupinder Singh in Kashmir and demanded thorough investigation into the mysterious killing of a minority community member, who was also a member of J&K Gurdwara Parbandhak Board.A condolence meeting was held here wherein senior Sikh leaders and Members DGPC, Jammu, under the chairmanship of Tarlochan Singh Wazir, Chairman J&K Gurdwara Board prayed for eternal peace to departed soul and to give strength to his family to bear the loss.Wazir said that minority Sikh community in Jammu and Kashmir on one hand is being deprived of fundamental rights in every sphere of life and on the other hand such mysterious killings of Sikh community has further increased the sense of deprivation and insecurity in Jammu and Kashmir.Other Sikh leaders and Members DGPC, Jammu present in condolence meeting included Jathedar Mohinder Singh, President Shiromani Akali Dal, Jagjit Singh President DGPC Jammu, Avtar Singh Khalsa, Ex-Secy DGPC, Jammu, Chairman Sikh Welfare Front, Fateh Singh, Secretary DGPC, Jammu Manmohan Singh DGPC, Jammu, Kuldeep Singh Vice President DGPC, Jammu, Ramnik Singh DGPC Member and Mohinder Singh Akhnoor, Member DGPC, Jammu.Meanwhile, All J&K POJK 1947 Sharnarthi Intellectual Forum condemned the killing of Bhupinder Singh by terrorists and said they were worried about the security of minorities in the Valley.In a statement issued here, Advocate Amrik Singh, Chairman and Surjit Singh General Secretary of Forum said the government should take steps to provide security to the minorities. They prayed to Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
