Political empowerment of ST, SC in J&K done only by Modi Govt: Priya Sethi

RAJOURI: While campaigning for the BJP candidates at different places of Rajouri District particularly at Dangiri and Doongi and other few places, former Minister and Prabhari BJP Rajouri Priya Sethi on Sunday asserted that the historical decision led by Modi Govt on 5th August 2019 that abrogation of Article 370 and 35A has assured the empowerment of the Gujjar, Bakarwal and other Scheduled Tribes politically in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
While addressing a gathering in favour of Party’s candidate Advocate Asif Choudhary of Doongi constituency for DDC polls which are happening first time in the UT of J&K, the former minister said that BJP had scripted the history with the repealing of Article 370 from the erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir state which will strengthen SC and ST in the UT and the people belonging to far flung areas of the UT will be able to play their positive role in the development and progress of the UT and the country.
Former Minister added that it would provide the due representation in politics to Schedule Tribes and others besides ensuring their active participation in decision making political positions at different levels. Priya alleged that successive government of NC and Congress had badly exploited the both tribes communities politically, socially as well as economically by snatching their rights which given to tribes communities across the country by the Union Government for their political and socio-economic development.
“They are victimized from inhuman and biased policies of previous governments which are responsible for the illiteracy, backwardness and poverty of said communities,” she said.
Priya Sethi added that the new proposal of Centre to grant political reservation to STs hailed by the community as it will be a “biggest gift” of the 21st century for STs of J&K as the community have been agitating to get political reservation since long. Former minister made it clear that BJP is a national level political outfit with track record of keeping national interest on priority.
She added that BJP backing empowerment of the tribes have also taken it up to decision making position of party circles. Rajender Gupta, District President also spoke on the occasion.
