STATE TIMES NEWS AKHNOOR: ‘We Care For You’ campaign of Jammu Police launched by SSP Jammu, Shridhar Patil is going on in full swing in Police Subdivision Akhnoor. The main aim of this campaign is to spread awareness and sensitize people about COVID-19 pandemic as well as help needy and poor people residing in Police Subdivision Akhnoor. SHO Khour received a call from stranded labourers through Shiv Kumar, son of Pardesi Ram Sahu, resident of Bilaspur, Chhatisgarh at present near Petrol Pump Chak Malal, Khour and another call received by In-Charge Police Post Pallanwala through one Dushyant Kumar originally from Madhya Pradesh at present Sailanwali Chowk that they along with many like families living in their immediate vicinity appealed for immediate help as they are running out of ration, same was brought to the notice of SDPO Akhnoor, Ajay Sharma. After mobilizing all resources and taking civil society members on board, ration for 125 families consisting of 292 souls was arranged for a week comprising of 7 kg Rice, 5 kg Atta, 1kg Dal, 1 kg Potato, 1 kg Sugar, 1 kg Salt, Mirchi, Haldi and etc. per family. Accordingly list of needy people was prepared by SHO Khour and also their demands found genuine on ground. The said ration got distributed by SDPO Akhnoor, Ajay Sharma, SHO Khour, I/C PP Pallanwala, concerned beat officers under the Supervision of SP Rural Jammu Suram Singh and in presence of civil society members, volunteers, strictly maintaining social distance. Also the concerned souls were briefed about maintaining their personal hygiene, social distance and staying inside during this ongoing lockdown. Thus, the step of Jammu Police is helping to ease pressure of fear among people about COVID-19, besides spreading awareness among all.
