State Times NewsJammu: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday seized a cache of arms and ammunition, including two AK assault rifles and a pistol, from a village here, an official said.The consignment, which also included three AK magazines and 90 rounds, was seized based on specific information in Akhnoor sector, the official added. He said it is suspected that the weapons were airdropped by a Pakistani drone in the village at night.“A Pakistani drone dropped arms and ammunition at Sohal Khad — a dry rivulet — in Pallanwala, which is located about 12 kilometres (km) from the Akhnoor sector,” SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil told reporters, here.The arms and ammunition were dropped in the rivulet and the drone flew back into Pakistani territory, he added. He said the area was located at a crucial intersection of the LoC and the International Border (IB).“We have recovered two AK-47 assault rifles, three AK magazines with 90 rounds of 7.62 MM ammunition, One star pistol, two pistol magazines, 14 Rounds of 9 MM Ammunition (Star Pistol), packaging stuff containing blue Thermacol wrapped in adasive tape with wooden attached fittings (fittings 2 Pkts) and Synthetic /parachute thread 2 rolls about 300 mts in length each,” he said. Accordingly, he said, FIR No. 156/2020 under Sections 121, 121-A, 123, 120-B, IPC, 13/21 ULA(P) Act, 7/27 Indian Arms Act was registered with Police Station Akhnoor and investigation thereof started.
