STATE TIMES NEWSKISHTWAR: Closing ceremony of cricket tournament organised by District Police Kishtwar, under Civic Action Programme, was held on Tuesday here at Chowgan Ground. Final match was played between Chatroo Eleven and Youth Sarkoot, which was won by the later. Deputy Inspector General of Police DKR Range, Bhim Sen Tuti was Chief Guest and the Deputy Commissioner, Rajinder Singh Tara was the Guest of Honour at the valedictory function. SSP Kishtwar, Harmeet Singh Mehta, along with other officers of Police, Civil administration and Army besides other prominent civilians were also present on the occasion. In 15 over match, Youth Sarkoot won the toss and elected to ball first. On the batting front, Chatroo Eleven scored 81 runs and Youth Sarkoot, while chasing the target, made it to the victory in 13 overs for three wickets. A total of 19 teams participated in the knock out tournament, playing 18 matches. At prize distribution ceremony, the winner team was given trophy, certificates, uniform and cash reward. The aim of organising the tournament by police was to motivate the youth to channelise their strength in constructive fields like sports and games.
