STATE TIMES NEWSPOONCH: With an objective and endeavor to contribute in preserving and promoting the Environment, ‘Parmaarth: Service Before Self’, a charitable trust conducted plantation drive at Dehri Sahib Gurudwara, near Chakkan-Da-Bagh Poonch in the esteemed presence of the members of Gurudwara Committee and the Head of the All India Sikh Students’ Federation, Poonch. Speaking on the occasion, Head of the All India Sikh Students’ Federation said that the initiative taken by Parmaarth: Service Before Self was commendable and it was far better that donating money. He also mentioned the practice of giving saplings to the people visiting the Gurudwara instead of Prashad on some special days to ensure that people realise the importance of preserving our surroundings. The trust before planting consulted the Forest Department and taken the advice from them that the soil of the region is most suitable for Chinar, planted mostly Chinar , along with some other variety with their own hands in the Gurudwara where people of all religion and communities come to pay their respects. The Chairperson of the trust Richa Sharma along with other Parmaarthis ended the event successfully with a pledge to continue this drive to save the present and a gift to the generations to come.
