JAMMU: Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir is going to organise two-day open volleyball tournament in the memory of late Dev Raj Khajuria for men at volleyball courts at MA Stadium Jammu from September 11.
This was stated by Organising Secretray, Mulkh Raj Sharma in a handout issued on Monday.
Sharma said that the two-day event would involve around 16 teams from across the State including army and police teams, which would take part in the competitions.
The tournament, he added, is being played on knock-out basis as per the rules and regulations of Volleyball Federation of India (VFI). He further said that winner team will be given a cash prize of Rs 10,000 while the runner up team will get Rs 5,000 as cash prize in the final. The tournament shall be declared open by the Chief Guest, Sidharth Daluja, State President, Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir at 11:00 AM.
