STATE TIMES NEWS REASI: Police on Friday detained a man with 3 litres hooch, besides destroyed 60 litres Lahan. As per the details, an information was received at Police Station Ransoo from a reliable source that Baldev Verma, son of Chuni Lal, resident of Kalah, Ransoo and Kewal Krishan, son of Sita Ram, resident of Kalah, Ransoo are indulged in the business of manufacturing and selling of illicit liquor (hooch) at village Kalah and surrounding areas. On this, a party from Police Station Ransoo conducted a raid and found that the said persons were preparing hooch near their house at Village Kalah. On seeing the police Kewal Krishan managed to run from spot but Baldev Verma was caught on spot along with 3 litres of hooch. 60 litres of Lahan was also recovered which was destroyed on spot while still, apparatus, pipes etc. were seized. A case vide FIR No. 09/2020 under section 48(A) (E), 50 Excise Act was registered in Police Station Ransoo and investigation has been started. The overall operation was conducted by SHO Ransoo Inspr. Ajit Singh, under the supervision of Dy.SP Hqrs. Reasi Waseem Hamdani, ASP Reasi Surjeet Kumar Bhagat and overall supervision of SSP Reasi Rashmi Wazir.
