NDS organises e-Dogri Kavi Goshthi

JAMMU: Continuing the process of conducting series of e-literary Meets , started by Nami Dogri Sanstha (NDS) in view of pandemic restrictions, an e-Dogri Kavi Goshthi was organised which was presided over by Tarsem Mahajan, a known Dogri and Hindi poet.
The Goshthi was compered and conducted by Yash Pal Yash General Secretary NDS on digital platform of NDS and was supervised and coordinated by Advocate Harish Kaila President of NDS.
in all, 24 Dogri poets recited their poetry covering various subjects like COVID pandemic, social values, romance, environment, politics and patriotism .
Convener NDS, Capt Lalit Sharma said that poets and writers touch, discuss, amplify and project the issues and dimensions in various forms of literary formats which otherwise skip the thought and sight of common man and make the society aware and pro-active.
Tarsem Mahajan, while highlighting the versatility and rich quality of Dogri literature, lamented that our children are drifting away from mother tongue Dogri and appealed the government to make Dogri a compulsory subject at least up to 8th standard.
He said societies which remain associated with their mother tongue remain connected with their land and environment.
The participating poets include Sudershan Kumari, Chaman Lal Sagoch, Wing Commander Dr. Deepak C Dogra, Kamlesh Kumari, Deepak Dutta, Mohan Lal Udhampuri, Arun Sharma Banathia, Jatinder Jolly, Kusum Sharma Antra, B.S Jamwal, Neelam Sharma, Capt. Lalit Sharma, Dr. Sushil Bhola, Dr. Adarsh Malhotra, Dr. Vijay Puri, Shambu Ram Pyasa, Nidhi Kaila Choudhary, Group Captain Dupinder Singh, Dr. Chanchal Sharma, Gurjit Kaur and Rashpal Dasgotra. Advocate Harish Kaila presented the vote of thanks.
