STATE TIMES NEWSIMPHAL: Yet another artist of Natrang, Sunil Palwal has brought laurels for Jammu and Kashmir for being conferred National Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in the field of Acting at Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy Auditorium, Imphal. The award was conferred by the Governor of Manipur, Najma Heptulla who was joined by the Chairman Sangeet Natak Akademi Dr Shekhar Sen and Secretary Sangeet Natak Akademi, Dr Rita Swamy Chaudhary. Natrang Director Balwant Thakur while complimenting Sunil Palwal said that “It’s a proud moment for Natrang and all his fellow artists. This is not the first occasion when Sunil has made us proud and brought laurels for Jammu and Kashmir. The day when he surprised us by featuring in one of the most expensive and biggest ever theatre production of India, ‘Mughal-e-Azam’ as Saleem, under the direction of Feroz Abbas Khan, I knew that sky is the limit for him”. Balwant Thakur further added that Sunil also has the credit of featuring in yet another blockbuster theatre production ‘Devdaas’ in which he played the lead ‘Devdaas’ under the direction of Saif Hyder Hasan.
