STATE TIMES NEWS SRINAGAR: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday caught a revenue official red-handed while accepting a bribe. According to a report, a written complaint was lodged in Police Station Anti-Corruption Bureau (North Kashmir) alleging that Naib Tehsildar Sopore, Fayaz Ahmad Wani was demanding bribe for recording the mutation of the land in the revenue records. On this complaint, a case FIR No 1/2019 under Section 5(2) J&K PC Act Svt 2006, 4-A Amendment Act- 2014 was registered and investigation taken up. During the course of investigation, a team was constituted under the supervision of Rafiq Ahmad, DySP who along with the officials of ACB, laid a successful trap.
The Naib Tehsildar was caught red handed in his office while accepting the bribe of Rs 12,000 from the complainant. Further investigation into the case is going on.
