State Times NewsJAMMU: Encouraging the morale of the youth by harnessing their talent, Mohalla Jindrahiya Welfare Society organized a ‘Solo Sketch Exhibition’ by Arun Singh Jamwal, here on Sunday. Senior Journalist, Ashok Sharma was the Chief Guest on the occasion, who emphasized on the role played by the youth in contributing to the welfare of the society in today’s scenario.He lauded the efforts of Arun Jamwal, a budding artist of the Mohalla Jindrahia who showcased his talent by displaying his 30 hand-made sketches of the prominent residents of the mohalla.Prominent sketches which drew the attention of the gathering in the exhibition included the famous names of late Praduman Singh an internationally renowned Dogri Singer, late Kuldeep Singh Jindrahia a notable Sahitya Academy awardee Dogri writer/actor and poet, late Brij Bala Thakur a renowned National Awardee teacher and a poetess besides others.Arun Jamwal asserted that youth has a vital role to play in the nation building.He said that youngsters should identify their talent and participate in sports, body building, athletics, etc and refrain from the menace of drug addiction and alcoholism.He maintained that unemployment was another issue which the youth is facing but by nurturing skills one can become self reliant and become an entrepreneur.President of the Society, Kuldeep Singh Jamwal, while presenting vote of thanks, maintained that youth were the guardians of freedom, justice, equality, ethics and social equilibrium who could play a significant role in weeding out social menace like injustice, inequality, oppression, corruption, communalism, etc by various peaceful movements.He conveyed his wishes to Arun Jamwal over the success of the exhibition.
