State Times News RAJOURI: District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, today chaired a meeting to review implementation of various social welfare schemes in the district. A threadbare discussion was held on various issues including identification of most deserving beneficiaries for pension schemes, holding of camps at block headquarters, Aadhar seeding of all the beneficiaries and providing pension through DBT, weeding out of pensioners who have died and sanctioning of new pension cases against them. While giving details of status of implementation of several schemes, the District Social Welfare officer informed that at present there are 35645 persons availing benefits of pension under different schemes in the district. He also informed that the department had previously conducted camps in all the blocks and a list of 32466 deserving persons has been prepared who are eligible to get pension benefits. DDC instructed the officers to carry out the process of weeding out the ineligible pensioners like those who have died so that new cases can be sanctioned against them. He called for speedy Aadhaar seeding and account updation of beneficiaries. He directed the district social welfare officer to set up a model creche centre in Rajouri. DSWO has also been asked to involve PRI members to ensure 100 per cent aadhaar linkage of all the eligible beneficiaries.
