Inter-zone DYSS district level competitions of Jammu
STATE TIMES NEWSJAMMU: Miran Sahib zone bagged the boys under-14 football title outplaying Satwari zone 2-1 via tie-breaker in the inter-zone district level competitions, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Khel Gaon, Nagrota, near here on Monday.In total, three teams turned up for the under-14 event so the competition held on knock-out basis. However, in other two age categories, the competition in progress on league-cum-knock out basis.Besides the football, boys’ Kho-Kho competition also started today at the same venue.Earlier, the district level event declared open by Tehsildar Nagrota, Anil Mangotra, who was chief guest. He was introduced with the participating teams from 14 zones by the chairman organising committee and district officer (DYSS), Jammu Sukhdev Raj Sharma. Prominent among others present were activity incharge, Ram Murti and Zonal Physical Education Officer (ZPEO) Dansal, Veena TikkooThe Results (League):FOOTBALL: Under-17: Satwari beat Miran Sahib 2-0; Dansal beat Jourian 4-0; Akhnoor beat Bishnah 2-0; Arnia beat Khour 2-0 via tie breaker.KHO-KHO: U-19: Akhnoor beat Dansal 7-4 points; Chowki Choura won by walk over; Akhnoor beat Chowki Choura by 18-08 points. Under-17: Arnia beat Khour 06 points; Marh beat Dansal by 09 points; R S Pura beat Bishnah by 01 innings and 01 point; Satwari beat Arnia by 06 points; Marh beat Gandhi Nagar by 09 points.
