State Times NewsREASI: A medical store owner among two persons were arrested by Police for selling intoxicants to youth. 7,000 capsules and Rs 1.5 cash was also recovered by the Police. Giving details, SSP Reasi Rashmi Wazir said that Police Station Arnas received an information from reliable sources that a medical store at Hunder Gali Tehsil Arnas, owned by one Ashesh Kumar, son of Som Dutt, resident of Hunder is selling these psychotropic drugs illegally to youth. Acting on information, a party from Police Station Arnas headed by SI Babu Ram proceeded to the spot and in presence of Executive Magistrate Dr Riyaz Ahmed KAS conducted the search of shop premises. During search, approximately 3,000 capsules and tablets of Tramadol were recovered from the shop, which were seized as per procedure laid down in NDPS Act in presence of Executive Magistrate.Taking lead from Ashesh Kumar, the police party apprehended Ravinder Singh, son of Lal Singh, resident of Chassana in presence of Executive Magistrate at Maslote, when he was coming to supply 4,000 capsules to Ashesh Kumar. He was the main supplier who used to supply these capsules to medical shops in Arnas, Mahore and Chassana. He was carrying capsules in his vehicle WagonR under the seat concealed in a specially built chamber. Moreover, an amount of Rs 1,50,000 was also recovered from the possession of accused Ravinder Singh which he was carrying to purchase consignment from medical agency somewhere in Jammu. In this regard, a case vide FIR no 92/2020 under Sections 8, 21 & 23 of NDPS Act was registered at Police Station and further investigation is going on. The entire operation was conducted by Incharge SHO SI Qasim under supervision of SDPO Arnas Dr Satish Bhardwaj, and overall supervision of Addl SP Reasi Surjeet Bhagat and SSP Reasi Rashmi Wazir.
