STATE TIMES NEWSKISHTWAR: Legal Metrology Department Kishtwar booked seven traders for violation of norms and a composition sum of Rs.41000 (Forty one thousand only) was recovered from 06 offenders during market checking.The market checking was held in Kishtwar town, Padyarna, Shashoo, Galhar, Karthal, Padder, Sarthal and adjoining areas and the erring traders were fined for the use of defective weighing instruments and lack of proper declarations on pre-packaged commoditiesThe offenders include two firms supplying medical accessories like pulse oximeters and face masks without mandatory declarations as per provisions of the Legal Metrology Act, 2009. The traders were advised to use only verified weighing and measuring Instruments for commercial transactions and to desist from sale of Non-Standard pre-packaged commodities without required declarations for the information of consumers.
