State Times News SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu has expressed grief over the sad and untimely demise of senior KAS Officer Tasaduq Jeelani. Jeelani who was presently posted as Special Secretary Social Welfare Department, and was admitted in the hospital few days ago, passed away on Friday. ‘He was a dedicated officer who worked with zeal and enthusiasm. It’s unfortunate that we lost him so early’, he said. In a condolence message, the Lt Governor has prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and forbearance to the bereaved family at this hour of grief. Chief Secretary, B V R Subrahmanyam expressed grief over the demise and said that Jeelani was a dedicated officer who always worked for the benefit of common masses during his period of service. He said that his untimely demise is a big loss to J&K administration. Advisors to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, K K Sharma and Baseer Ahmad Khan also expressed sorrow over the demise of Tasaduq Jeelani. Advisor Khan termed Jeelani as one of the committed officers who always proved his mettle during his long period of service. Bhatnagar maintained that Jeelani was one of the dedicated officers who always worked for the benefit of common masses during his period of service. Advisors expressed deep sympathy with the Jeelani’s family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul as well as strength for the family to bear this irreparable loss. Expressing shock over the demise, Commissioner Secretary General Administration Department, Manoj Dwivedi stated that untimely demise of Tassaduq is an irreplaceable loss for Jammu and Kashmir Administration. “We have lost a very energetic & dedicated officer who believed in selfless service”. At the Directorate of Information & Public Relations (DIPR) where Tassaduq Jeelani served as Director during 2014, officers and officials recalled his services and employee friendly attitude and helpful nature in dealing with the issues. Chairing an emergency condolence meeting, Director Information, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar termed Tassaduq Jeelani as a highly capable officer who always took a keen and personal interest in solving the issues and problems of his subordinates. “The services rendered by him would be remembered for long times to come”, she said. Recalling his contribution during his stint at the DIPR as Director, the officers and subordinates recalled his dedicated role during the floods of 2014 when he proved his leadership traits and led the Department from the front during the unparalleled Natural Disaster. The employees also remembered his friendly, humane and humble attitude towards his subordinates and fellow colleagues in the discharge of official duties. The meeting prayed for peace to the departed soul of Tassaduq Jeelani and conveyed heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family. At present, Special Secretary, Social Welfare, Taasaduq Jeelani also served the J&K administration as Director, Rural Development Department, Kashmir; Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag; Director, Estates Department; Director, Tourism, Kashmir and Additional Commissioner, State Taxes Department besides other assignments. KAS officers Association expressed grief over the sad demise of Tasaduq Jeelani. The Association lauded the services of Tasaduq Jeelani who worked in different capacities as Director Information, Director Estates and Director Tourism. The Association has conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul. Meanwhile, Provincial President National Conference Devender Singh Rana expressed profound grief over the passing away of senior KAS officer. In a condolence message, Rana described Jeelani as a sober and energetic officer, who worked in various capacities and served the people. Rana prayed for peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss. Principal District Session Judge (Retd) and Chairman We The Human Forum for Nature and Mankind, K.Y.S Manhas also expressed shock over death of Tasaduq Jeelani. Citing it as a loss to the UT, Manhas said that Tasaduq was known for his administrative skills with a people friendly approach. He prayed to the God to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and give courage to bereaved family members to bear this irreparable loss. Co-ordination committee of Estates Deptt Employees Unions Jammu and Kashmir also condoled the untimely and demise of Jeelani.
