STATE TIMES NEWS REASI: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) began 35 days skill development training programmes on Nursery Worker and Vermicompost Producer for rural youths at KVK, Reasi campus. The programme was attended by 40 rural youths from different areas of the district. The programme was organized under the guidance and supervision of Director Extension and Vice Chancellor of SKUAST-J, Dr.KS Risam. Dr. Banarsi Lal, Scientist and Head of KVK, Reasi inaugurated the programme with the warm welcome of the participants. He briefed the importance of the training programmes and gave a detailed view on vermicompost and nursery raising. Dr Suja Nabi Qureshi spoke on the advance techniques of nursery raising techniques. He stressed on the entrepreneurship development in horticulture. Dr.Sanjay Kaushal, scientist gave the outlines of training programmes and stressed on the scientific organic farming. Dr. Lalit Upadhaya urged the participants to take the maximum benefit of the trainings and advised them to upgrade their skills for nursery raising and vermicompost production. He elaborated the scientific methods of plantation. Dr. Arvinder Kumar also spoke in the occasion. The programme was assisted by Manohar Lal, Sanjay Kumar and Md. Iqbal.
