STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: In response to the call of J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu, work remained paralysed in all Courts as a mark of protest against brutal killings of two die-hard nationalist persons from Kishtwar, namely Chanderkant Sharma and his PSO, Rajinder. “Relevant here to mention that since the eruption of terrorism in J&K, Chanderkant Sharma was fighting against anti-national forces in J&K in general and Kishtwar, in particular. He always kept the National flag flying high and never compromised while fighting against anti-national forces. Yesterday, both were shot dead by suspected terrorist, which is a matter of serious concern and needs to be condemned by one and all, in one voice,” said B S Slathia, President Bar Association Jammu, while addressing a media. Taking serious note of increasing trend of attacks on innocent nationalist people and security personnel, the Bar Association members condemned cowardly attack, in which Chanderkant Sharma and his PSO, Rajinder attained martyrdom while fighting against anti-national elements and their allied supporters in the State. Their sacrifice for the cause of nation shall always be remembered for times to come, the members said. The Association members also paid tributes to departed souls and pledged to stand by the bereaved families. They also prayed to the Almighty for granting peace to the departed souls and strength to bereaved families for bearing this irreparable loss. Slathia expressed anguish that despite availability of sufficient security set-up, the administration failed to book culprits, who succeeded in assassinating Parihar brothers, since November 2018, which too is a matter of grave concern. Slathia urged the Governor, Satya Pal Malik to take stern action against such subversive elements to curb menace of terrorism besides ensuring peaceful atmosphere in the State. It was further urged by Slathia that such incidents should be investigated by a Specialized Investigating Agency to nab culprits, responsible for the cowardly act, which has caused fear psychosis amongst nationalist people.
