JAMMU: Students of Junior Wing of KC Public School performed two English plays in front of their parents last evening at the Mandua open-air theatre on school campus.
The performance began with the staging of dramatised version of the famous German legend ‘Pied Piper of Hamlin’ by students of Class V F.
All the actors put up excellent performances to convey the sense of despair of citizens of Hamlin when they lose their children in the vendetta story of the magical piper who is denied payment for ridding the town of mice infestation and, by way of revenge, entices the children of the town away with his magical pipe.
The play received vociferous applause from parents. The second play ‘Jal — A Little Drop’ by students of clan V D focused on the environmental issues related to water on planet earth and underpinned the importance of keeping water resources free from pollution and wastage.
The large cast of children performing the roles of various elements of nature did a wonderful job and earned the appreciation of the audience. With guidance from their English teachers Rachna Sharma and Jyotivir Singh, students of both classes worked well together as teams and self-managed all aspects of stage production like light, sound, costumes and publicity.
