JAMMU: Varinder Gupta alias Kaka Chichdi, who was accused of running a crusher illegally despite Govt orders, was arrested by police on Sunday and taken on remand.As per details, Pounichak police sealed two stone crushers namely BN Stone Crusher and JK Stone Crusher in Ghasitpur area on November 17 and made some arrests also. On Tuesday, police found some men working at sealed stone crusher, after which it raided the spot and seized two dumpers and a JCB.Police has also registered case against Virender Gupta, resident of Talab Tillo; Sunny Kumar, resident of Pounichak; Shamsher Singh, resident of Raipur; Sham Kumar, resident of Udhampur; Jawalamukhi, resident of Uttar Pradesh, presently staying at Nardani; Ramesh Kumar, resident of Durga Nagar; Sanjay Jamwal, resident of Talab Tillo; Kewal Kumar, resident of Pargwal; Tarsem Lal, resident of Khanpur; Jaya Kumar; Ajay Kumar, resident of Marh and Gopal Dass, resident of Uttar Pradesh, presently staying at Muradpur. The accused Virender Gupta, alias Kaka Chichdi, resident of Talab Tillo was absconding and when Police Post Pounichak Incharge Rohit Bhagat, acting on an input, raided a travel agency at Bus Stand to arrest him, the aforesaid officer was transferred. After the transfer of Incharge Police Post, the case became talk of town and to improve its image, Police arrested Kaka Chichdi.
