STATE TIMES NEWS KATHUA: Mohan Lal Kaith, SSP Traffic Rural Jammu along with Behari Lal, DySP Traffic Samba-Kathua visited Lakhanpur and held a meeting with the general public, stake holders, prominent citizens and the officers of Excise and Municipal Corporation Departments. The main objective of the meeting was to review the traffic arrangements in connection with forthcoming Amarnath Yatra, 2019, which is commencing w.e.f. 1st July, 2019. During the course of meeting, the general public has been stressed upon to ensure proper cleanliness, as well as, removal of idle/abandoned vehicles, vendors and Reharis etc. from Lakhanpur town, which is main entrance of J&K State. They have also been requested to extend the full co-operation to the Traffic Police for hassle free vehicular movement of pilgrims during Yatra. Some of the prominent citizens and the officers are, Sajjad Ahmed Sofi, ETO Lakhanpur, Surram Din, Chairman Municipal Corporation Kathua, Rakesh Sharma, Advocate, Vice Chairman, Municipal Corporation Kathua, Joginder Bandral, Social activists, Shri Kaka Ram, Member Municipal Corporation, Swarn Singh, Sr. Citizens, Shri Deepak Katal, President Youth Federation Kathua, Dr. Amar Nath, Sr. Citizen, Satish Tak, Transport Association and concerned DTI were also present in the meeting. Traffic Police Rural Jammu has ordered to establish a Reception Centre at Lakhanpur under the overall supervision of one Inspector along with sufficient traffic personnel for one time documents checking of yatri vehicles and pasting stickers. The main Yatra route stretch from Lakhanpur to Bari Brahamana has been divided into 10 Zones, where suitable Motor Bikers duly fitted with PA System at each 10 KMs shall be deployed for cooperating and helping the safe and hassle free yatri vehicles. The general public as well as, vehicle operators are requested to park their vehicles at the earmarked place and extend full co-operation to the traffic team in order to avoid the traffic jamming.
